Data protection laws make it difficult for priests to access hospital records. Unless they are informed by a patient or relative, priests therefore have no way of knowing when a Catholic is in hospital. It is vitally important that you notify your priest and give this form to hospital staff on admission to ensure that you receive the sacraments and spiritual care.
St Michael and All Angels is part of the Roman Catholic Chaplaincy at Princess Royal University Hospital. The Chaplaincy consists of a team of priests, deacons and lay people from the Bromley Deanery.
For the ordinary pastoral care of patients in the hospital, there is a named priest / deacon and named Extraordinary Minsters of Holy Communion for each ward.
All emergency sick calls are made through the Princess Royal University Hospital switchboard. Ward staff will contact the switchboard if a priest is required in an emergency.
